Nanostructured boron agents for boron neutron capture therapy: a review of recent patents

چکیده

Abstract Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a potential radiation modality for cancer, and tumor-targeted stable boron-10 ( 10 B) delivery agents are an important component of BNCT. Currently, two low-molecular-weight boron-containing compounds, sodium mercaptoundecahydro- closo -dodecaborate (BSH) boronophenylalanine (BPA), mainly used in Although both have suboptimal tumor selectivity, they shown some therapeutic benefit patients with high-grade glioma several other tumors. To improve the efficacy BNCT, great efforts been devoted development new boron better uptake favorable pharmacokinetic profiles. This article reviews application research progress nanomaterials as carriers hopes to stimulate people’s interest nanomaterial-based by summarizing various kinds nanomaterial patents disclosed past decade.
